Not just electricity and gas. Water bills will also increase in Sardinia. The confirmation comes from the EGAS (local government body of Sardinia) which controls the water sector of the island. “But we mustn't talk about stinging”, explains the president Fabio Albieri, “in the water sector we will not have reckless price increases as happens for energy”.

HIGHER COSTS. And it is precisely the price increases in electricity that force the institution to adjust the tariffs. Abbanoa, which manages the water service and is supervised by Egas, faces higher expenses in its bill to manage the phases ranging from supply to purification. Expenses that must be covered, so as not to create problems for the budgets.

HOW MUCH? “Ours is a regulated market”, explains Albieri, “Arera (Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment, ed .) Imposes stringent restrictions on tariffs, as part of a three-year plan. So the increases, which are in things at this historic moment, will be more than 2% than 20% ”. Or maybe 5%. Egas's decision on the issue is imminent: “We are already at work”, continues the president, “the restatement will be established within the year, perhaps as early as next month” .

IMPACT. The decision should not have an impact on all classes of users, according to Albieri: “The social water bonus goes to meet citizens with Isee up to 20 thousand euros , so we are talking about a fairly high threshold. For them there are some important benefits ".

THE ASSURANCE. Increases yes, therefore, but minimal. The Egas president is keen to underline one aspect: “There will be no crazy bills or crazy increases, those times are over”, he assures referring to Abbanoa and the period of fire of the balances.
