Seven fatal accidents, 408 with people injured and 496 without any consequences for the motorists involved. And again 27,782 high reports for traffic violations, 499 penalties for waste-related violations and 7,627 vehicles removed. These are some of the numbers of a year of activity of the local police of Cagliari, which today celebrated, with a mass officiated by Archbishop Giuseppe Baturi in the church of San Massimiliano Kolbe, the patron saint of the body, San Sebastiano.

Also present at the ceremony was the mayor of the capital Paolo Truzzu, from whom came words of appreciation for the commitment of the fighters in these two years of pandemic.

"It takes passion and love for this job, to be close to the people," said the mayor.

The anniversary was an opportunity to draw up a balance sheet for 2021, with the Municipal agents engaged on several fronts.

From 1 January to 31 December last year, 1,074 road accidents were reported. Of the 27,782 disputed infringements, 571 concerned the use of mobile phones while driving, 443 lack of insurance coverage and 47 for violations related to the use of scooters, a figure that is destined to rise. The report also includes accidents with hit pedestrians, a phenomenon that has experienced a resurgence in recent months.

Via Is Mirrionis is the most dangerous road for those who cross with 8 people overwhelmed in a year, followed by via Roma with 6, viale Poetto and via Trieste with five investments.

The activity carried out on the incorrect delivery of waste is important: 29 people fined for abandoning bags on the street, 310 those for leaving tubs at prohibited times.
