An 84-year-old French tourist died in the early afternoon of today in Southern Sardinia.

The man fell ill while taking a bath in Porto Pino , a town in the municipality of Sant'Anna Arresi.

The tourist had been on the island for a few days: he decided to take a bath to cool off, but when he moved away from the shore he felt ill, probably due to the temperature change .

The other people present on the beach immediately rescued him and brought him ashore, then an ambulance and helicopter rescue arrived. The doctors tried for a long time to resuscitate the elderly man, but there was nothing to be done . The carabinieri of the Nuxis station were also on site.
