A flurry of environmental inspections in Gallura and on the island's northeastern coast by the Forestry Corps of the Judicial Police Section of the Tempio Pausania Public Prosecutor's Office culminated in a series of precautionary seizures ordered by Prosecutor Gregorio Capasso.
One concerns a construction site in Porto Rotondo where approximately 1,500 cubic meters of completely illegal building materials were discovered during the construction of a luxury villa located within 300 meters of the sea . The irregularities involve an unauthorized expansion, with the basement space being converted from a cellar to a residential space, as was the utility room adjacent to the swimming pool.
Another seizure was made in the Paule Lada-Via Tremuleu area of Olbia . Forestry and Environmental Protection officers discovered an unauthorized change of use: a brick warehouse and a 130-square-meter roof, owned by a well-known Olbia businessman, intended to house a barn for exclusively agricultural purposes, had instead been converted into commercial premises for the storage and resale of building materials.
We return to Porto Rotondo, in the Punta Volpe area , for further complaints: a significant increase in volume was discovered inside a luxury tourist villa, with a change of use of the basement , which was still under completion at the time of the seals. This space was converted into residential accommodation without any authorization issued by the Municipality of Olbia.
Finally, in Arzachena , a kiosk located on the renowned Liscia Ruja beach was seized , where permanent structures were found firmly anchored to the state-owned shore, without any building or landscaping permit.
The Court of Review then confirmed the precautionary seizure of part of the tourist-hotel complex included in the Cala Sassari-Spiaggia Bianca development plan , in the municipality of Golfo Aranci . The seals were placed on an area comprising three buildings, including numerous residential units with swimming pools, a sensitive area completely transformed and cleared, and a dirt track built as a direct and exclusive connection to Cala Ambra beach.
