"She doesn't appear to be missing, she doesn't answer the phone."

This is how Igor Sollai responded to the correspondent of “Who saw it?” two days before the arrest for the murder and concealment of the body of his wife Francesca Deidda.

A few days ago the Rai broadcast, contacted by Francesca's colleagues, went to San Sperate to talk to the 43-year-old. «Do you want to make an appeal? Are you calm? Or are you worried about your wife?», correspondent Dina Lauricella asks him. Sollai appears anything but calm and very defensive: « No, I can't talk. I had nothing to do with it, why did you come to me? I have nothing to do with it ."

The next day, however, Igor decides to speak. There are 48 hours left until the arrest: Francesca, says the 43-year-old, «is not missing, she just doesn't answer the phone. Yesterday I didn't want to speak because the investigators told me to remain silent so as not to hinder the investigations. There could be other people involved , let's wait and see what happens, maybe she'll come back."

Sollai did not make a complaint «because we were in a period of pause. She didn't live here, I thought she had gone to her brother's house ."

THE MYSTERY OF THE CAR AND THE SECT

The last time he saw her, continues the 43-year-old, was on May 10: « I left her in a place, she asked me to leave her there. I can't tell you where ." He had accompanied her by car, Francesca's same Volvo which he sold for 15 thousand euros after her disappearance . Since then «we haven't spoken to each other anymore, but we spoke to my brother-in-law. Then for a certain moment he didn't hear from her anymore and he got worried and reported her missing." The correspondent urges him - "incredible story" - almost as if to underline his contradictions. And he replies: "Worrying story."

Sollai insists, he still talks about a break period "taken by mutual agreement" due to a "bad moment". And he says he is forced to maintain the strictest confidentiality so as not to hinder the investigations. He suggests that she may have been killed by other people: "Not by friends of mine, and she didn't have a lover." It evokes communities and sects, it seems to refer to the hippie community of Monte Porceddus . Sollai's father himself, also interviewed, speaks of a sect. Then, pressed, he states: "I hope he hasn't done anything."

ANDREA DEIDDA

At the microphones of "Who has seen it?" Andrea Deidda, Francesca's brother, also intervenes and speaks of another version initially given by Sollai: " He said he had seen her leave the house to go who knows where, perhaps to Milan. At first he wanted to make me think about suicide ." In recent days, Deidda continues, he and Sollai spoke: " He was very disappointed that I had reported him missing. He told me I could talk to him about it, maybe to go together. He also threatened to report me."
