The hydrogeological risk alarm will go off in Macomer on Wednesday.

However, it is only a simulation: a large-scale exercise, which will involve all citizens, organized by the Municipality, in agreement with the Prefecture of Nuoro, which will deploy the firefighters, the carabinieri, the state police and the fifth "Genio Guastatori" regiment, the regional civil protection, the municipal one, the Forestry Corps and the Forestry agency, as well as various voluntary associations, the Green Cross in particular.

«An event that will represent an opportunity to increase the attention of the population and the members of the local operational structures on the problems identified in the common civil protection plan - it is written in the official press release of the Municipality - will allow the municipal structure to acquire the skills necessary to organize appropriate exercises frequently in the future, regardless of the contribution of the Region which, in this case, finances the exercise".

To simulate the risk conditions, the critical and emergency situation that occurred with Cyclone Cleopatra, which also affected the Macomer area, will be taken as the historical reference event.
