Hours of delay, diversion to Verona, and passengers stranded on board: a Ryanair flight to Cagliari and Bergamo suffered a nighttime ordeal.
Departure delayed twice, landing in Villanovafranca due to bad weather, and a 45-minute wait before disembarkation: a passenger's storyPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
An odyssey was experienced last night by passengers on Ryanair flight 3892, scheduled to depart from Cagliari Elmas at 11:15 PM and bound for Orio al Serio Airport in Bergamo.
Luca Massidda, from Cagliari, one of the many departing, recounted this. "We already knew there was a problem before arriving at the airport: around 9:30 PM, we received the notification that the departure had been postponed to 12:50 AM . Then, while we were busy checking our bags at the airport, we received another notification: another delay, with departure postponed to 1:45 AM ."
Then boarding, departure, and further inconveniences: "While we were in flight," Massidda continues, "the announcement was made that we would not be able to land in Bergamo due to bad weather. The captain then announced that we would be landing in Verona, Villanovafranca airport, at 3:15 ."
Here, however, further inconveniences: «We remained locked in the plane for three quarters of an hour , until four o'clock – continues Massidda – with the company informing us that they were waiting for instructions for the possible disembarkation of the passengers».
"I think we're all willing to put up with some travel inconvenience," he concluded, "perhaps due to bad weather, but I think we've gone too far here. For my part, having to be in Bergamo in the morning to open my business, I also had to pay for a taxi back to Orio, with a trip that started in Cagliari that evening and ended at six in the morning."
