Sassari–Olbia, head-on collision due to a risky overtaking. Five injured: one is very serious

Five injuries were classified as red due to dynamics, but only one was in danger of life.

This is the outcome of a serious head-on accident which occurred this morning shortly after 7am on the Sassari - Olbia road, in the two-lane stretch near Berchidda , around the fiftieth kilometre. According to initial information , the cause is a risky overtaking, which ended with a violent impact .

The injured were distributed between the hospitals of Olbia and the Santissima Annunziata of Sassari. One of them required the intervention of an air ambulance. The road was closed in both directions during investigations, rescue operations and the removal of the vehicles involved. Then reopened with alternating one-way traffic.

Diversions are indicated on site, while long queues have formed.

The Veca Section of the Sassari Police Headquarters immediately intervened on site and was in the direction of Olbia for a service at the time. Also at work were the Fire Brigade, Tempio Traffic Police, two ambulances and the air ambulance.
