Ten years in prison. This is the sentence handed down today by the preliminary investigations judge of the Nuoro Court Mauro Pusceddu, in the abbreviated trial against Fabio Delogu, known in the city as Bullana, the 48-year-old farmer from Nuoro accused of the attempted murder of Albino Sella which took place in the countryside of Mamoiada in February 2020.
Delogu was in the courtroom accompanied by his lawyers Gianni Falchi and Francesco Marongiu. The victim was not in the courtroom and therefore did not join the civil action.
The defendant was captured in February in a remote area of the Mamoiada countryside after a year of searches: the recipient of a precautionary custody measure in prison, he had become untraceable. Albino Sella in February 2020 had escaped an ambush on the old road connecting Nuoro to Mamoiada: several rifle shots had been fired at him but they had missed. The traces of DNA incriminated Delogu.
Albino is the brother of Danilo Sella, killed with a gunshot to the face at the age of 23 on September 18, 2008, and he himself is currently in prison: he is serving a 9-year sentence for the attempted murder of Antonio Deiana which took place in Mamoiada in 2016.
