After the seizure of the area he had turned into an illegal landfill, he had continued to throw in carcasses and parts of stolen cars. But this time the arrest was triggered : in handcuffs, during an operation by the Forest Station of Uta and the Investigative Unit of the Inspectorate of Cagliari, a 48-year-old ended up, now under house arrest for environmental crimes, illegal waste management, construction of illegal landfill, recycling, invasion of land and buildings as well as for the violation of seals, for which penalties of up to 12 years of imprisonment are envisaged.

The investigations had been launched following the discovery by the Forestry Corps of a vast landfill both in the open and inside warehouses, in Macchiareddu, in the territory of Assemini , owned by a company unaware of what was happening.

The Forestry agents had ascertained that the shed was used by the 48-year-old owner of a nearby mechanical workshop, who threw waste inside the area, especially engines and car body parts, some of which were stolen, as well as residues of paints.
