The fire brigade helicopter is flying over the countryside in the hope of finding any evidence that might help locate the elderly man, starting with the gray Hyundai he drove away from home in yesterday morning.

It was his family who raised the alarm when they didn't see him return that evening.

Firefighters, Carabinieri, and volunteers were mobilized in the search.
