The research of Giauque Pier Andrè, a 79-year-old French tourist who disappeared yesterday morning from the historic center of Castelsardo, continues.

The search started in the village a few minutes after the complaint, which took place around 11.30, presented by his wife and some friends who were part of the same tourist group.

The searches started immediately, by the Municipal Police Corps, the Carabinieri of the local station, the Port Authority, the volunteers of the CVSM-Civil Protection and the local Barracellar Company. At the moment, despite the efforts of the military and volunteers, no trace of the disappeared has been found.

"It is an event that has greatly affected all the citizens of Castelsardo - explains the mayor Antonio Capula - the photo of the deceased made, in a few minutes, the tour of the smartphones and the whole town was involved in the research. As an administration we are immediately there activated to lend all possible help to the family and to make every means available for research and any help ".

In the meantime, the authorities of the neighboring municipalities were also involved as well as the personnel belonging to the other law enforcement agencies, the National Fire Brigade Corps, the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps, the Forestry and Environmental Surveillance Corps of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Italian Red Cross and also teams of voluntary associations from all over the island.
