Gesico, the town of kindness . At the request of the Parish of Santa Giusta, in the small town of Alta Trexenta, “The day of kindness” was established with the aim of promoting the positive power of kindness, combined with tolerance and respect for others.
"As a parish priest - explained Don Efisio Zara - I asked myself what I could do to promote peace, which begins with all of us. That's how I understood how essential it is to educate people to kindness, to respect people and Creation." Gesico thus becomes the first "kind city" in Trexenta and the fifth in all of Sardinia.
The municipal administration of Gesico has enthusiastically embraced the idea of starting this initiative, launching a series of structured activities that will involve all citizens, starting with children . A purple bench has also been installed as a symbol of the anniversary.
Kindness Day will be celebrated every year on November 30, together with the Feast of the Three Holy Child Martyrs, which was also established to honor the cult of the little Gesimundo, Flore, and Victoria, who left Gesico for Spain, accompanied by some families. The discovery of the remains of the three children caused such a stir that it interested the Court of Spain. According to tradition, wild lilies have always grown in the place where they were buried (the lily is one of the symbols of martyrdom).
