A beating, the details of which are still unclear, occurred last night in the Gairo marina. A 58-year-old man from Tortolì was punched in the face. He told emergency responders, who arrived a few minutes before 5:00 a.m., that he had no recollection of the incident.

He was conscious but clearly confused as a result of the facial trauma. The incident occurred in the Baccu 'e Praidas area. It's also unclear why the man, an employee of a tourist accommodation facility in Cardedu, was in that area.

Perhaps he went for a relaxing evening after a night spent cooking. But in this still unclear affair, one thing is certain: the man was transported in critical condition to the Lanusei emergency room, and the Carabinieri of the Jerzu branch have begun an investigation to identify the perpetrator of the attack.

The military is examining several testimonies from people who may have witnessed the violent incident, a legacy of a late-night mystery into which the Lanusei Public Prosecutor's Office may soon open an investigation. The motive for the attack is currently unclear.
