After 40 years of work at the AOU of Sassari, the Nuoro adventure of the expert breast surgeon Rita Nonnis Mulas (67 years old) begins.
The announcement was made by the specialist of Fonni origins herself, former acting director of the Sassari Breast Unit: «From today I am officially in charge of the ASL 3 of Nuoro and on Monday I will begin service at the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro in the Breast Surgery department».
Then she drew a positive balance of her career path: «I spent more than 40 years in Viale San Pietro», said the breast specialist, «they were intense, beautiful years, but also tiring and troubled, certainly full of human satisfaction in the relationship with patients and colleagues».
And in the long message, accompanied by dozens of good wishes for the arrival in Barbagia, the surgeon specified: «Beginning this new work experience gives me a lot of energy and with the new work group we are already preparing a project that provides a timely and quality service to the many women of this territory who had to turn to other facilities in the region or on the continent to be operated on».
For the doctor, a 360-degree commitment to "revive and relaunch the public service precisely at a time when so many are abandoning it."
But it is by talking about the protection of the public service that the specialist relaunched the choice to land in Nuoro: «It is a duty on everyone's part, especially in this difficult moment in which there is a shortage of doctors in some specialties such as surgery and emergency and that in the more peripheral territories causes further discomfort to the population».
On the sidelines of the farewell letter to former colleagues from Sassari, «the challenge of making public facilities attractive, rewarding healthcare personnel not only from an economic point of view but also from an organizational point of view, promoting safety and well-being at work».
Essential elements for Nonnis Mulas who promises: «It is with this spirit that I begin this new phase of work and I am sure that I will find a team ready to enthusiastically carry out this new path at San Francesco in Nuoro».
