Four nurses had to seek treatment in the hospital, at Santissima Trinità, after being attacked, along with a doctor, inside the prison of Uta. According to what was reported by the Fials union, the health workers were attacked by an inmate, who forced them to lock themselves inside a cage to escape his violence. Unable to break down the door, the man attacked the furniture and was stopped only when the prison police officers arrived.

"This is only the latest in a long series of episodes of violence that sees the medical and nursing staff working in the Ettore Scalas prison as victims," accuses the provincial secretary of the union in Cagliari, Paolo Cugliara: " Women and men who, in carrying out their work, are too often forced to suffer acts of unheard-of violence."
Two of the four nurses, after passing through the emergency room at Is Mirrionis , were also subjected to a check-up in the Psychiatry department: they received a thirty-day prognosis due to the state of psychological prostration linked to the threats.
"I feel like calling the management of the ASL 8 of Cagliari to its responsibilities for prison health care," adds Cugliara , "while it is more necessary than ever that the nursing area starts specific training for those destined to work in prison, which is obviously an atypical environment for which special preparation is necessary."
