The strike is confirmed, but there will also be a demonstration. The Sardinian Forestry Corps is preparing for a day of protests scheduled for tomorrow. The demands primarily concern requests for personnel to fight the fires.
The protest comes during a summer season that is keeping firefighters busy daily.
The Safor-Cisl, Fesal Ras Area, and Uil-Fpl unions will be holding a permanent sit-in in front of the Regional Council starting from 10:00 a.m. tomorrow.
"The initiative," they write, "is part of the ongoing state of unrest and strike action and stems from the need to push for a concrete, no-longer-postponable political response to the critical issues that have long plagued the Forestry Corps. Confirmation of the strike is inevitable due to the lack of formalized action. The staff coordinating a highly complex campaign need certainty, not declarations of intent."
