On Saturday 14 December, an open day dedicated to the flu vaccination will be held in all authorised pharmacies in Sardinia.

Even users from the most “disadvantaged” areas of the Island will be able to receive the dose, in the pharmacies of Suni, Armungia, Elini, Borutta identified - one per province - as “vaccination outposts in the areas with the greatest criticalities.

The initiative was born thanks to the experimental agreement between the Region and Federfarma with the aim of guaranteeing everyone the possibility of accessing the flu vaccination without leaving their municipality of residence.

In recent days, the testing of vaccines in pharmacies has begun in Sardinia, with the aim of reaching around 10 thousand eligible users in the inland areas of the island, especially in centers where there is no general practitioner coverage or where it is more complicated to access the clinics of the Hygiene and Public Health Service of the ASL.

Furthermore, those who are entitled to exemption (the frail and over 65s, as well as some categories of users) will also be able to get the flu vaccine in one of the over 350 authorized pharmacies across the island.

"The aim is to widespread an essential service such as the flu vaccination in all the territories of the island, taking advantage of the network of pharmacies that has always guaranteed a reference point for our communities", explains the Health Councilor, Armando Bartolazzi.

"We are very satisfied with the result achieved - comments Pierluigi Annis , president of Federfarma Sardegna - today is the first step to contribute to bringing the regional health system closer to people who are in disadvantaged areas of our region, communities far from large centers or those who are still without a family doctor".
