The flu vaccination campaign for the year 2024-2025 has also started in Sardinia: over 400 thousand doses have been ordered for the whole island, 120 thousand of which are destined for the ASL of Cagliari.

The Binaghi vaccination clinic has already received the first 20 thousand doses and is distributing them to general practitioners, pediatricians, RSA and all applicants. The municipalities of Cagliari, Quartu Sant'Elena, Isili, Muravera and Senorbì are involved in the distribution.

The novelty this year is the agreement signed in September with family doctors for the administration of the vaccine not only for pneumococcus but also for herpes zoster.

"We trust in a strong participation of doctors and pediatricians. The goal in fact", explains Gabriele Mereu, head of the vaccine prophylaxis service of the prevention department of the ASL of Cagliari, " is to increase coverage, which last year in Sardinia were among the lowest in Italy. Vaccination is indicated for the categories of frail people, the elderly, hospitalized, chronic patients, frail children, health workers, the population over 60 and children from 6 months to 6 years without pathologies".

Vaccination can be done together with the anticovid, antipneumococcal and antizoster doses . To request vaccination, you must send an email to vaccinoantinfluenzale@aslcagliari.it: doctors, RSA and private individuals who request it will then be contacted for delivery.
