It's been a busy day for the regional firefighting team: 21 fires were reported today across Sardinia, four of which required support from the regional fleet's air force.
Among the most significant interventions was a forest and rural fire in the Montigu area of Norbello. The extinguishing operations were coordinated by the Oristano Forestry Corps, with support from a helicopter from the Fenosu base. Two Forestas teams from the Sedilo and Abbasanta construction sites were also on site.
Another fire affected the countryside in the municipality of Nurri, in the Guzzini area. The response was managed by the Isili Forestry Station, with the assistance of two helicopters that took off from the Fenosu and Villasalto bases. On the ground, four Forestas teams from the Villanovatulo, Isili, Nurallao, and Seulo construction sites operated, along with volunteers from Orroli and Isili.
A third fire has hit the Sitziddiri area, in the Gesico district. The operations were directed by the Senorbì Forestry Corps, with the assistance of a helicopter from the Villasalto base. A Forestas team from the Senorbì construction site and local volunteers also participated.
Finally, efforts to extinguish a rural fire that broke out in the Riu Su Rettori area, in the Nuraminis countryside, are still underway. The operations are being coordinated by the Dolianova Forestry Station, with air support from the Fenosu base.
