Fire in the countryside of Sestu: families evacuated and serious damage

Flames in the early afternoon in the countryside of Sestu .

The fire also reached a pile of old tires, threatening various agricultural crops and some sheds , developing and feeding on the now dried stubble. Serious damage to the territory reduced to ashes.

The flames also approached the houses so that some families were evacuated as a precaution .

Massive was the extinguishing intervention, with the use of a helicopter, two teams of firefighters on the ground, together with foresters and some associations .

A truly remarkable array of forces that avoided much more substantial damage: a few hours of hard work on the ground and dozens of water jets from above were needed to circumscribe the flames.
