Falls from scaffolding, rescue efforts useless: Ploaghe, tragedy on construction site

Tragedy in Ploaghe, where a 69-year-old man was the victim of a nasty fall inside a construction site.

There was nothing that could be done for the elderly man: the doctors who intervened could only take note of his death. According to the Carabinieri's findings, the man was on a scaffolding and for reasons yet to be ascertained he lost his balance. It is not excluded that the cause of the fall was a sudden illness.

The Carabinieri of the Ploaghe Station intervened on site, the military heard several people.

According to initial findings, the scaffolding had been set up in a building owned by the victim.

The construction site has been placed under seizure, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Sassari is proceeding.
