The repair works by ENAS, the Sardinian Water Authority, on the section of the Coghinas 2 aqueduct affected by the subsidence that caused interruptions and inconvenience for the population will be completed tomorrow. Abbanoa announced it.
The pipeline supplies the Abbanoa purification plants in Truncu Reale (serving Sassari, Porto Torres and Stintino), Monte Agnese (Alghero) and Castelsardo with raw water.
"Thanks to the operational protocol defined by the regional public works department - reads a note - at the end of the morning, in favor of the Abbanoa plants in Truncu Reale and Monte Agnese, alternative supply lines were activated by Enas and Consorzio di Bonifica della Nurra which made it possible to meet 60 percent of ordinary needs by exploiting the Cuga basin ".
"The Abbanoa technicians - adds the press release - proceeded throughout the day to carry out a series of maneuvers on the network and in the plants to keep the city water network in operation as much as possible. Compared to the previous interventions, therefore, the restrictions are considerably contained ".
Then the details of the interventions:
- In Sassari, supply restored from early afternoon in the districts fed exclusively by Truncu Reale through the Monte Oro reservoir and pipeline: Centro Storico, Monte Rosello basso, Sacro Cuore, Sweet Milk, Santa Maria di Pisa, Porcelain and Piandanna.
- No interruptions in the districts fed by the Monte Fiocca gravity pipeline: Li Punti, San Giovanni, Sant'Orsola, Caniga, La Landrigga, Bancali, Ottava, San Quirico, San Giorgio, Predda Niedda and the Bancali prison. - No interruptions even in the areas supplied by the Quota 300 reservoir of Serra Secca, only partially fed by Truncu Reale: Luna and Sole, Prunizzedda and Monte Rosello Alto and Carbonazzi.
- In Porto Torres the integration of local wells has been activated which can only partially guarantee the needs of the inhabited center.
"Disruptions are therefore expected up to the conclusion of the repair of the Enas pipeline and the restarting of the plants. The same situation for Stintino, Castelsardo and Tergu", concludes the note from Abbanoa.
