Esterzili, Raimondo Puddu: «Pratobello's lesson against energy speculation»
The events of 50 years ago told by those who lived them and today sign the "Pratobello '24" specifying: "We Sardinians are the custodians of our land"He remembers well the events of Pratobello 50 years ago , when over 5,000 people from Orgosolo occupied public lands where the State had decided to build a military shooting range . Also because Raimondo Puddu, born in Esterzile in 1929, crossed those lands several times in his life as a shepherd, which began when he was still a child.
And today, when he sees Sardinia threatened by energy speculation, despite his 95 years of age and the many ailments on his shoulders, he didn't think twice and asked his children to accompany him to the Town Hall in Esterzili to sign the "Pratobello 24" law.
"The Sardinians must decide, we are the custodians of our land , no one can afford to come here and deface it. The mainlanders do not know our lands and our peculiarities", said the man in a low tone of voice, but with the desire of someone who still has much to say and teach. "I have already lived my life, but we must think of the young and it is to them that we must leave a free and genuine land".
Meanwhile , the territorial tour of the Sarcidano Territorial Defense Committee continues to inform the population about the great threat represented by energy speculation . And on Saturday it will stop right in the Barbagia town. The appointment is at 6 pm at the social center "Fernando Pilia" in Taccu.
"Esterzili is at the center of a wonderful territory, known for its landscapes and archaeological sites of great value. This territory is threatened by 9 wind projects for a total of 130 blades over 200 meters high and 1 gigantic hydroelectric storage plant", write the activists in the note accompanying the invitation to the public meeting.
