This afternoon in the assize court in Sassari, judge Elena Meloni pronounced the sentence against Gabriele Grabesu, Giovanna Truzzi, Christian Loi and Lorenzo Panei (accused only for aiding and abetting) , accused, according to prosecutor Erica Angioni, of having favored the escape of the lifer Giuseppe Mastini , who did not return to Bancali prison at the end of a reward permit on 5 September 2020 and was found two weeks later by the state police in the Zinziodda area of Sassari.
The most substantial sentence is that for Gabriele Grabesu, defended by the lawyer Marco Palmieri, sentenced to 4 years.
2 years and 6 months for Giovanna Truzzi, Mastini's partner, assisted by Silvio Toccafondi. 3 years and 2 months for Christian Loi, defended by Stefano Porcu, and 1 year and 6 months for Lorenzo Panei, followed by Marco Piras and Paolo Spano.
