Last July 30th, the meeting of the coordination group of the 11 departments interested in identifying the areas suitable for the production of energy from renewable sources was held which, due to its complex transversal nature, also involved the agencies Forestas, Laore, Agris and Enas.

«The primary objective of identifying suitable areas - declared the councilor for local authorities, finance and urban planning Francesco Spanedda - is to guarantee an energy transition in full respect of the territory and its specificities , allowing, among other things, to replacing the production of the coal-fired power plants of Portovesme and Porto Torres and identifying the most suitable sites to limit land consumption to a minimum. The meeting - specifies Spanedda - represents a fundamental intermediate stage of a complex process, already started following the approval of regional law number 5 of 2024, which touches on issues of extreme relevance for our territory, from industry to urban planning , from landscape protection to agriculture, fire safety, environmental protection, up to the efficient use of public building roofs. This is an opportunity to implement a data sharing and harmonization system within the Region and to update the Regional Territorial Information System (SITR-Sardinia Geoportal) which is among the services most used by administrations, professionals and by the inhabitants of the island."

«The contribution of the individual departments and other bodies of the Region System - underlined the exponent of the Todde council - also allows us to initiate shared actions to verify the effective compliance with the provisions of regional law number 5 of 2024 by the companies implementing renewable energy projects. The coordination group - concludes Spanedda - will meet next week for further technical analysis of the project".
