The Region is trying again to propose (also) the "additional services" of doctors to reduce waiting lists. Up to now, a remuneration evidently with little appeal, irregular and always late payments, in addition to the already too heavy ordinary workload, have discouraged the participation of professionals.

Now, with a resolution adopted by the Board in recent days, the compensation for those who adhere to company projects to eliminate the long waiting times for specialist visits rises to 100 euros per hour . Maybe something will move, but the unions are critical: "It's just a drop in the ocean."

The data are certified by the quarterly monitoring of the General Directorate of Health. The latest, to give some examples, reports - for deferrable services, i.e. those that should be guaranteed to the citizen within thirty days - a regional average of 112 days for a cardiology check-up, 144 days for an endocrinology check-up, 190 days for a gastroenterology check-up, 137 days for a dermatology check-up.
