Einstein Telescope under attack: «Our blades have priority»
Wind offensive in Barbagia, multinational shock: «Let's move forward»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The authorization for seven (plus seven) 240 meter high wind turbines must have priority over a project that is still defined as hypothetical and uncertain in its implementation methods. Even if the "project" in question is that of the Einstein Telescope, a billion-dollar investment at the center of attention of the global scientific community. This is supported by those who want to install those wind towers between Nuoro and Orune.
The company Aei Wind Projetc Srl, based in Rome, in February requested the Environmental Impact Assessment to build its wind farm, mirroring another that bears the same signature and which should be built between Orgosolo, Orani and the Barbagia capital. The Municipality of Nuoro and the Ministry of University and Research, through the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, have raised their shields to protect ET. The Srl del vento responded in recent days and is aiming (also) at Barbagia: two requests have been filed. The names of the projects are "Ce Nuoro Nord" and "Ce Nuoro Sud".
The locations identified for the shovels are "Su Vacchile Novu", "Burbàrisi", "Funtana Sos Jàccanos", "Schina Sas Pauleddas", "Sa 'e Magneri" and "Corjos", in Orune.
An opinion from the Municipality of Nuoro arrived in early May to raise doubts about the validity of the plan. Also looking at other requests, the Planning sector underlines that «it is clear that within a 10 kilometer radius, as many as 162 wind turbines with visible impact have been built or are in the process of being authorized, due to the size and number of its components, also from inhabited area of Nuoro". The municipal offices then recall law 41 of 2023, which created a protection belt around the Sos Enattos mine, in Lula, a candidate site to host the Einstein Telescope for the study of gravitational waves, a work that would be threatened by noise , also that generated by the vibrations of the blade rotor.
