Three other drug couriers, who landed in Porto Torres with a large quantity of drugs, were arrested by the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza. It is a man of Nigerian origin - in the last month a total of four Nigerian couriers have been intercepted, two in Porto Torres and two at Alghero airport - and two women of South American origin. The operations are part of the activities carried out in recent weeks by the Fiamme Gialle in the province of Sassari, eight operations in the port and airport area which led to the total seizure of about 20 kg of drugs (including cocaine and heroin) and the arrest of nine couriers.

ARRESTS - In particular, on the morning of March 4, during the checks carried out with the use of anti-drug canine units, the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza stopped a young man who had just landed from the ship coming from Genoa, thanks to the reporting of the Karma dogs and Fred, who persistently called the military's attention to hand luggage. The immediate inspection made it possible to find 70 eggs of cocaine mixed with heroin in a bag, for a total weight of 750 grams of cocaine. To avoid risks to the health of the courier and after hearing the prosecutor, the military also accompanied the young man to the Civil Hospital of Sassari for diagnostic tests, which however excluded the presence of other drug ovules in the body. At the end of the operations, the drug was seized, while the man was arrested on charges of detention for the purpose of drug dealing and taken to Bancali.

Similar dynamics last March 11, when the Green Basques identified two young women, one of Cuban nationality and the other Dominican, who had just disembarked from a ship coming from Barcelona and were reported by the anti-drug canine units. Subsequent checks made it possible to find substantial quantities of drugs: the Cuban hid 750 grams of cocaine and the Dominican 350 grams of the same substance. Both women had hidden the drug in their bra.

At the end of the operations the drugs were seized, while the two women were arrested on charges of detention for the purpose of drug dealing and placed at the disposal of the Sassari judicial authority which ordered the very direct rite. At the hearing the arrests were validated and the women were subjected to the precautionary measure of custody in prison. Both are now in the Bancali prison.
