The Carabinieri of the Iglesias Company's Mobile Radio Unit arrested last night a dangerous fugitive who had been untraceable since December.
The man had already ended up in handcuffs in 2019, precisely for the thefts of fuel committed while driving stolen vehicles and for the escapes from patrol checkpoints. But he had been admitted to therapeutic custody, a measure repeatedly violated and therefore revoked by the Surveillance Court of Cagliari , which issued a decree last December suspending the therapeutic custody with an order of immediate accompaniment to prison .
Since that day , the man had disappeared , moving between the various centers of Sulcis. The searches were concentrated in the area of Bacu Abis , where the carabinieri suspected that the fugitive had resumed his drug dealing activity. And right there, shortly after midnight, a patrol stopped him as he was leaving an isolated house.
He had on him 2,310 euros in cash, thirteen doses of cocaine ready for sale, 3.2 grams of marijuana and two bottles of methadone. The subsequent house search led to the seizure of another 233 grams of marijuana, two doses of cocaine for a total of 8.7 grams, approximately 10 grams of heroin, thirty-nine bottles of methadone, precision scales and packaging material.
The 38-year-old was then arrested and taken to Uta prison.
