One person drowned this morning in Stintino . Giuseppe Ibba, 65, fell ill around midday in the waters of Cala di Vacca, between the restaurant and the Anchor.

It would be the wife who first noticed her husband's condition, with whom she often spent holidays in the area, and called for help. Some swimmers, and among them a doctor, who were on the rocks right in front of the sea, immediately gave first aid, leading the person to the shore. In a short space of time an ambulance arrived and then, promptly, also the Helicopter Rescue and the Harbor Master's Office. The medical staff tried to resuscitate the man for over half an hour without, unfortunately, succeeding and Giuseppe Ibba died shortly after 1pm.

The man worked at the University of Sassari as a surveyor of the technical area and was esteemed as a serious and prepared professional.
