Three days full of celebrations in Sant'Antioco in homage to the “ Dies Natalis ” of Sant'Antioco Martire, Patron Saint of Sardinia, which is celebrated on 13 November .

Scheduled from Friday 11 a calendar full of events between culture, faith, tradition and historical insights.

On the occasion and exceptionally, thanks to the Diocese of Iglesias and the rector of the Basilica Don Mario Riu, it will also be possible to attend, on Sunday 13th, the solemn procession for the Saint through the streets of the historic center . Without forgetting the musical homage by the Neoneli Choir , in the Basilica on Saturday 12.

"We intend to give due prominence to 'Dies Natalis', an occasion that has been little valued up to now and the last appointment with the celebrations of the 663th Feast of St. Antioco - the words of the Councilor for Culture, Luca Mereu - through a rich program made up of activities of cultural and historical study ".

Among the initiatives “also an innovative multimedia project on the Saint , capable of combining tradition, faith and modernity through new technologies, to present the Patron Saint of Sardinia in an unusually modern but absolutely fascinating guise. Especially for the youngest ". And then “the historical re-enactment through the reading of the Passio di Antioco which will be accompanied by the vocals of the prestigious Neoneli Choir”.

Then, Sunday 13, the " Tragitto di Antioco ", a walk on the Gulf of Palmas departing from Coa cuaddus , "which aims to weave a single common thread capable of combining the naturalistic and environmental beauties of the Antiochense landscape with the desire to live and rediscover the ancestral dimension of the pilgrims who honored the martyr centuries ago ”.

The presentation of a painting by the late Carbonia painter Luciano Lucchi , the “S.Antioco ai Sulcitani” is also expected.
