Only in the next few days will elements be available to determine the causes of the death of Davide Budroni, the man struck by a fatal illness at dawn on Wednesday in Chiaramonti after being handcuffed by the police.

The autopsy carried out by the coroner Salvatore Lorenzoni has not yet helped to resolve the doubts, it is too early to draw conclusions.

The investigation by the Sassari prosecutor's office remains open.

Budroni, 54, in an evident state of alteration, had tried to enter a club to drink alcohol. Rejected by the barmaid, who had locked herself inside, he had reacted violently by trying to break down the door. The woman had called the carabinieri and two soldiers from the Martis station had intervened on the spot, against whom Budroni had lashed out and a scuffle had ensued. The carabinieri had pinned him to the ground and handcuffed behind his back.

In a few moments the tragedy: the man had suffered an illness and when the ambulance arrived, attempts to revive him were useless.
