The stories of the dog Argus from the Odyssey are very famous, who for years waited for Ulysses to set foot again in Ithaca, and that of Hachiko , the Japanese dog who remained faithful to his master even after his death, going every day, for a long time, at the station to wait - in vain - for his return.
But Sardinia too has its own touching story of tenderness and friendship between an animal and its owner.
It comes from Desulo and to tell it to L'Unione Sarda is a reader, Alberto Zilaghe and the protagonist is a dog named Snoopy : «Ever since his master, who died prematurely, Snoopy has been there in the alley night, in front of his house always waiting for him hoping for his return ».
Zilaghe also immortalized Snoopy in front of his human friend's door.
«I took this photo to highlight the tenderness and how the affection and loyalty of an animal is such that it even surpasses death. The dog is so attached to his late master that he is still waiting for his return.
I point out that Snoopy is not left to himself , but is lovingly looked after by everyone (relatives and not) even those who do not live near his home, he always receives a caress, affection, food and water, and a lot of sympathy from everyone and even has his own kennel and in winter a house closed in the heat».
Nonetheless, he returns to his master's house every day, as if to pay homage to their long and passionate friendship.
