Too much waste on the side of the road, including bags and garbage of all kinds. Over time, the Strada dei Candesi, in Decimomannu, seemed more and more like a landfill, so much so that two groups of volunteers took to the field to restore order and cleanliness. "On behalf of myself and the entire community, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to those who, with great dedication and community spirit, cleaned up the area," wrote Mayor Monica Cadeddu on social media.

"Your voluntary commitment and careful work in waste separation have made a portion of our campaign not only more dignified, but have also been an example of civility and respect for the environment. Thanks to your efforts, we have managed to deliver the separated waste to the ecological island, and we are taking action to collect the special waste found", added Cadeddu.

Then the promise to monitor the area in the future, "so that no new accumulations form. You did not think that someone should do it for you because you pay the TARI or for other reasons, but you acted with extraordinary awareness and dedication to your community. Your contribution was invaluable and represents a model of active citizenship that we should all follow", concluded the mayor.
