Last night two cars, one in Decimomannu around midnight and one in Assemini around 3, caught fire a few hours apart. Whether it was a short circuit or arson will only be revealed by investigations into the causes.

In Decimomannu, in via Cagliari, the car involved is a Renault Captur parked on the sidewalk. The flames, which spread quickly, completely destroyed the car and damaged a nearby house recently restored.

The Fire Department of the Cagliari Command headquarters intervened on site, the same ones who shortly after put out the flames in via Pio IX in Assemini. In this case too, a parked Fiat 500 was completely destroyed, but the flames did not manage to spread to adjacent structures. An emergency team with a tank fire engine and five operators operated on site, putting out the flames and securing the area.

No one was injured in either fire.
