Cruise season, Alghero sees a boom in landings

A total of 54 cruise ships will dock in Alghero from April to November. A record number, considering that the port does not yet have an equipped dock that would allow floating hotels to dock. Passengers will reach the mainland aboard launches.

Today the press conference to present the cruise calendar, organized by the partners who manage the Port Facility Security Plan, namely Agenzie Marittime Sarde, Gms Mar and Oliva in collaboration with the “Consorzio del Porto di Alghero” . During the meeting, various issues related to the cruise tourism sector were addressed, which is seeing a significant increase in the number of naval units that will arrive in Alghero both this year and next. The managers of Confcommercio, the municipal councilors and the commander of the Port also spoke.

All things considered, about 40,000 passengers should disembark in Alghero, a small number compared to the comings and goings of landings because these are small and medium-sized ships that carry high-spending tourists . Industry experts say that each passenger would leave 100 euros in the area for souvenirs, restaurants and excursions.
