Cala Pira , early morning. Finest hour, for many. Partly due to the still mild temperature, partly because at that time of day there is still nobody on the beach. Yet, already from the first light of dawn, here is an army of umbrellas to "reserve" the front row.

It is the habit of many owners or tenants of local houses, in one of the most fascinating beaches in the municipality of Castiadas, who leave umbrellas, deckchairs and any other beach equipment on the beach all night long : partly to ensure slot, a bit to avoid having to carry the weight from your home. «Sometimes», says a visitor to Cala Pira, «they aren't even used during the day».

Thus, we have to be content: «Those who arrive from elsewhere even early in the morning, and have paid for parking at 10 euros a day», he continues, « have to squeeze into the remaining areas . I reported it to the City and the police. The answer? The intervention of removal and sanction is complicated ».
