Castelsardo still dry: work is underway to restore the pipeline

There is no peace for the municipality of Castelsardo , which has been dealing with a water emergency for five days now.

The teams of Enas technicians , supported by Abbanoa workers, are working to repair the fault , the second in a few hours in the Coghinas 2 plant.

Mayor Maria Lucia Tirotto, with a video message on social media, communicated to citizens, on the night of Thursday 22 May, the serious situation resulting from a further collapse of the pipeline, which occurred following the first break in the network , which is extending the emergency times.

"An unexpected event that further aggravates the already difficult situation," said the mayor, "which leads to the continuation of the lack of water. It is estimated that the restoration work will last another two days, but Enas will communicate the necessary times to us."

In the meantime , the mayor has sent a communication of what is happening to the prefect of Sassari .

On Wednesday , the city council declared a state of emergency due to water shortage . In the sensitive areas of the city - schools, kindergartens, senior citizens' homes - special tanks have been placed to ensure water supply.
