Over 2000 people, including students, teachers and volunteers, participated in the new edition of Clean Up the World, held throughout the municipality of Carbonia.

The initiative, promoted by Legambiente, now in its 30th edition, has allowed the cleaning of numerous buildings and areas of the city and its hamlets, thanks to the synergic work of the participants who, armed with gloves, tongs and bags, have given their best both to offer a concrete service to the community and to set a civic example. The waste collected will subsequently be disposed of by the public hygiene service contracting company.

The Don Milani-Satta, Deledda Pascoli, Beccaria, Angioy, Ipia E.Loi, Gritti schools and the voluntary associations NABA, Anmig, Coordinamento associazioni Bacu Abis, Athena, No Eta guardi ecozoofile joined the event. Several tons of waste were collected.

"The commitment of so many people in support of environmental protection - warns the environmental councilor Manolo Mureddu - is a source of pride for the community, the demonstration of how everyone can, even in their own small way, do something concrete to help raise awareness among others about respect for the environment". According to the mayor Pietro Morittu, the result of this hunt for waste "is made possible by the collaboration, team spirit and participation of associations, schools and citizens united by their love for the city".
