Carabinieri, the new commander Duranti at the pupils' school of Iglesias

Change at the top of the carabinieri school of the Trieste barracks in Iglesias.

Colonel Andrea Desideri - outgoing commander - has entrusted the flag of the institute to Colonel Giulio Duranti.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by the commander of the Carabinieri students legion of Rome, general of division Carlo Cerrina.

Desiderio, who spent three years in command of the pupils school (more than 1,000 carabinieri trained and about 500 deputy brigadiers), was destined to hold the position of commander of the 12th "Sicily" Carabinieri Regiment.

While Duranti, who comes from the provincial command of Pisa, in his career has also held various positions in Sardinia as head of office at the Sardinia Carabinieri Legion. He was provincial commander in Oristano, Tonara and Sorgono. Many missions abroad including those in Mostar, Kabul, Baghdad, Khartoum, Tibnine and Niamey.
