Residents are waiting for someone to intervene for the leak that has been going on for three months, but despite the reports to Abbanoa, the fault in the water mains on Via Serpentara, at the Residenza del Sole in Capoterra , has not yet been repaired.
The water that continues to flow incessantly has now become a permanent presence on the sidewalk, so much so that a resident has been forced to install a walkway to access his home .
The problem experienced by the residents of via Serpentara is the same one that the residents of via Lombardia have been living with since last July, where the reports from residents and administrators made over the summer are countless. To protest against the lack of timely intervention by the Abbanoa workers and for the less than optimal restoration of the state of the places when maintenance is carried out, the councilor for technological services, Pino Baire , has sent a letter to the top management of the water and sewerage management company.
"I decided to make our reasons heard because the situation has become unsustainable - says Baire -, just take a walk around the area to see how many leaks there are, in via Lombardia - despite our repeated reports - the water has been flowing undisturbed since July. When we finally intervene, after the work the roads appear to be in poor condition and often at the limits of practicability. The contract signed between the Municipality and Abbanoa at the end of 2022 clearly defines the obligations of the sole water and sewerage manager: the repairs are his responsibility, as is the restoration of the state of the places".
Baire explains how, in addition to a question of decorum, the problem is also one of safety: "The interventions should take place within 48 hours of the report at the latest, continuous leaks and damaged roads offer a bad calling card for our town, but what worries us is also the safety of the citizens. We ask Abbanoa to change course , and that in addition to timely maintenance on the water and sewer networks, it begins to guarantee a correct arrangement of the roads".
