14 years have passed since the flood that on 22 October 2008 sowed death and destruction on the territory of Capoterra . This morning, as every year, citizens and municipal administrators gathered to remember Antonello Porcu and his mother-in-law Licia Zucca, Anna Rita Lepori and Speranza Sollai.

In front of the church of Sant'Efisio, in Su Loi, where a plaque was placed years ago to commemorate the tragedy, the mayor Beniamino Garau laid a wreath of flowers. “That flood is a still open wound for our community, which must call all of us to responsibility. As administrators we have the obligation to adopt policies for the protection of the territory, so that tragic events like these never happen again and Capoterra can be considered a safe city for all its inhabitants. I want to send a hug to the families of the victims of that tragic day, and to all the people who lived those tragic moments firsthand. Our task will be to keep alive the memory of that terrible tragedy, so that future generations know what happened in these places ”.
