Capoterra, dies of a heart attack while fighting with fire

He died in a desperate attempt to protect the retirement home where he worked in the Fra Giuanni area from the flames. Antonio Garau, born in '68, from Capoterra, felt ill last night shortly after 11pm while helping the firefighters, the Civil Protection and the local police officers to put out a brush fire.

The man collapsed to the ground, apparently suffering from a heart attack.

The 118 health workers tried in vain to resuscitate him.
