Not only the uncertainty caused by the Alitalia stop, not just the chaos on luggage, left on the ground instead of being loaded in the hold due to employee protests.

Now the strike in the air sector is also taking place to paralyze territorial continuity. Today's difficult day for those who have to take a flight: in the island there are - for now - 49 connections canceled, but it is not excluded that the list will be extended in the next few hours. Alitalia has canceled 161 routes, between national and international, about 62 percent of those planned. Over a quarter of these are on the island, where 44 flights will be skipped. Another 5 Volotea canceled them (CGIL and UIL proclaimed a strike by the low cost flight personnel), all at Cagliari airport.

The list

The airport of the capital is also the one most affected by Alitalia cancellations: between yesterday evening, today and tomorrow morning (for operational reasons), stop at 13 Cagliari-Rome flights (round trip), 12 Cagliari-Milan, 4 Alghero Rome , 5 Alghero-Milan, 4 Olbia-Rome and 6 Olbia-Milan.

All connections outside the "protection" time slots, ie from 7 to 10 and from 18 to 21, in which flights must still be made. Passengers who have purchased a ticket, in case of cancellation of their flight “will be able to change their reservation or request a refund of the ticket without any penalty until 1st October. The trip must be completed by 14 October 2021 ”, Alitalia said.

The reasons

At the base of the strike there is obviously the Alitalia-Ita dispute, "on which we expect an urgent call from the competent ministries", explain Filt, Fit, Uilt and Ugl Ta, which are at the third stop after those of 18 June and 6 July and still await a "response from the government, which for now remains a major absentee".

It has been since Monday, when the break with Ita on the contract took place, that Alitalia workers have held up the protest with demonstrations and assemblies. So much so that the same company advised passengers to travel only by hand trolley to avoid having problems with luggage loaded in the hold of the aircraft: in the last few days many flights have not been loaded, leaving travelers without bags upon arrival in airport.
