In Cagliari , the San Michele cemetery is closed due to excessive heat. Following the red heat wave alert issued by the Ministry of Health , tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the cemetery will be closed to the public during the most critical time slot, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
The measure was adopted by the Municipal Operations Center (COC ) to reduce the risks associated with high temperatures , in line with health guidelines aimed especially at those most exposed, such as the elderly and vulnerable citizens. In this context, the Municipality of Cagliari reminds that the "Estate Solidale 2026" program is active, designed to address the heat emergency and strengthen the local assistance network. In addition to strengthening the reception of people experiencing severe marginalization or homelessness, with facilities open daily and a widespread presence throughout the city, a telephone helpline is also active , at 070.0933671, which is available until September 30th, every day, including holidays, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
The service , managed with the support of the Italian Red Cross , allows us to collect reports, offer guidance, and activate rapid interventions in times of need, even for everyday needs, such as home delivery of groceries and medicines. The Municipal Administration urges citizens to exercise extreme caution during the hottest hours of the day and to cooperate in reporting any difficult situations, so that the service network can be activated promptly.
