Mayor Massimo Zedda has appointed former magistrate Mario Marchetti as president of the Board of Directors of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari.
The top role of the political body that leads the Foundation is usually held by the mayor. But, as stated in the act that assigns the role, Zedda must deal with "binding, pressing and non-delegable duties" that do not only concern the capital but also the Metropolitan City. Therefore, he avails himself of a faculty granted by law.
Hence the appointment of Marchetti, 85 years old, with a long past at the Palace of Justice in the role of investigator and already a member of the Cdi of via Sant'Alenixedda. "A person who, in addition to having a high level of competence", continues the appointment provision, "a very high administrative and accounting qualification and significant experience at the top of state bodies of constitutional level, can ensure the Foundation not only a management based on rules of good and transparent management, but also an organic connection with the government of the city and the Region".
