In Cagliari, work has begun on the raised pedestrian crossing on via Stamira, at the height of the post office . Workers have just finished fixing the sidewalk that will connect the hump.
The latter has been requested for some time by residents and is also one of the requests of the Monreale neighborhood committee .
"Something is moving," says Vice President Elisabetta Manella, "it was very important to do it because cars are running here and it is equally important that it is done right where the post office is, frequented by many elderly people who then cross the street."
On Thursday, the committee met with the councilor for mobility Yuri Marcialis , the director of the service of the same name Daniele Olla and the deputy mayor Maria Cristina Mancini, to highlight the problems of the neighborhood, one in particular, under the responsibility of the mobility sector: the construction of a roundabout between via Stamira and via Platone , "to guarantee safety for cars exiting via Platone, via San Tommaso D'Aquino and via Bacone and which must enter via Stamira", says the committee, and the passage of the CTM line 1 to connect Monreale to the city center.
Manager Olla said he was available to discuss the roundabout with his office, while the CTM company could evaluate the proposal to extend line 1, but, since the lengthening of the route involves a change in mileage and costs, they are evaluating how to resolve it .
For her part, the deputy mayor reiterated the interest of the mayor Massimo Zedda in the creation of a public park in the entire area between via San Tommaso D'Aquino and via Platone and for this reason the necessary checks of the case are being carried out.
