On July 7th, the curtain rises on the Teatro del Mare with a special guest. Amii Stewart will inaugurate the 840-seat open-air structure nestled in Nervi Park. A stage overlooking the La Palma canal, with its play of light at sunset, at Su Siccu in Cagliari, where masts and sails will form part of the backdrop, along with views of the coast and the city skyline.
The American artist kicks off the summer season at the Cagliari Opera House with a live performance, which runs through August 8th in evocative settings across Sardinia. She will take the stage for a double concert on July 7th and 8th.
"The Teatro del Mare was born from the desire of the Port Authority and the Teatro Lirico to open the port to the city and bring the theater to life during the summer. We combined these two goals and created a program naturally curated by the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, along with us, enthusiastic supporters of every aspect of the initiative," said Domenico Bagalà, president of the Sardinian Port Authority, on the sidelines of the press conference. In addition to the concerts already scheduled by the Teatro Lirico, Cagliari Mayor Massimo Zedda announced a summer program yet to be finalized.
