"Against all wars, even the current ones." Cagliari took to the streets for Liberation Day, with a procession of three thousand participants that moved from Piazza Garibaldi to Piazza del Carmine, accompanied by chants of support for the Resistance and anti-fascism.

In the middle, a silent moment of remembrance took place in the Remembrance Park, with the laying of two wreaths in homage to the Fallen.

Among the institutions present were Mayor Massimo Zedda, Regional Council President Piero Comandini, and Regional Transport Councillor Barbara Manca.

"Speaking of Liberation today, 81 years later, is unfortunately still relevant," said President Comandini. "We believed we had built a world of peace after the dark years of the First and Second World Wars. Instead, just a short distance from Cagliari, bombs were dropped on defenseless peoples to conquer a few kilometers of land. Sardinia is right to remember the April 25th holiday. Those values are still strong; it is right to remember them every day so that those dark moments are never repeated. War against Nazism and Fascism are repudiated by our minds and hearts."

During the demonstration, a group of young people from the Memoratu social promotion association brought two large notepads on pedestals to the square, where people could write a phrase about the meaning of "Resistance" today.
